Book One Lucas
‘Lucas flashed into my life like a glorious thunderbolt, electrifying my senses with those cobalt blue eyes; then just like lightning he was gone.’
Jessica Evangelista has had it tough. Pregnant at sixteen, she’s fought hard to protect the little boy she loves. Life never dealt her a break, until now. But when her thunderbolt lands as a permanent fixture, seriously sinful and impossible to ignore, he threatens every aspect of the life she’s strived so hard to build. When you’re fighting for a chance, there aren’t many rules. Jess only has two;
She will never sleep with her boss.
She will never risk it all.
Lucas Hunter is a man used to getting what he wants. A master of the boardroom and the bedroom, he’s respected, magnetic and powerful, and that’s the way he likes it. Dark and dominant, serious and brooding, he lives for control. But when a beautiful waitress crashes into his life, he knows he needs to win her. What he doesn’t need is a woman who blindsides him at every turn, forcing his ordered world into absolute chaos.
He doesn’t pick up waitresses and he doesn’t f**k employees.
Relationships come with a cast iron contract.
Some rules were made to be broken. Some feelings are just too powerful to ignore.
With an introductory offer price of only 0.99 cents, 'Lucas' is a hot new release for summer 2014, and book one in the brand new series, The Hunter Brothers. Due to explicit language and strong sexual content, including BDSM, the series is recommended for readers over 18.

This book begins when Jess ends up bumping into a really gorgeous guy when she's filling in for her sister at a waitressing job. Her humiliation gets worse when she discovers he's actually her new boss at her other job. She can't lose this job, and he seems to not want her there. But something is keeping her from being fired, and she's unsure what. These two have major chemistry, and when things start to get to hot, neither one are sure who is going to get burned. Especially when Jess has a few secrets of her own, and Lucas may have one too.
This book started out very interesting. I loved the business relationship, and adding the child into the mix, because that never happens in books. But then the book just went a little crazy in my opinion. It was like the heroine was really interesting, and I respected her then she just sort of went crazy around the middle of the book. That was so unexpected that I started to lose interest in it. Then it just didn't get much better after that.
So, my overall view on this one is that I liked it. I liked the story for the most part, and I liked the hero, and the child. But I was not really a fan of the heroine after she started going crazy then stopped all of a sudden. I'm not really sure I want to read more in the series either, but the next book seemed intriguing.

Lucas The Hunter Brothers Series eBook LJ Dee Reviews
Absolutely fantastic. The story of Lucas has everything you are looking for to make your reading a book an experience.
There is mystery, angst, love, lust, jealousy all woven together to make one fantastic story. There are a lot of books out there and serial books are just not cutting it. If the aurthors are listening that is. Lucas is a complete story that definately held my entire interest. The way the characters interact is so real you actually feel you are part of the story. L.J. Dee is an author you definately have to keep watching for, I know I am. If you like a good book with everything including lots of steamy sex you have to buy Lucas, believe me you will be more than happy.
Fantastic job L. J. Dee
Great storyline and very well written; it sucks you in right away and holds you're attention. The characters are wonderful and the way Jess and Lucas met is completely charming. The story is original and not a regurgitation of oh so many romance novels. Light BDSM without going overboard. Jess is a strong female character who had a tough life then finally caught the break she deserved. Sometimes she seemed a little too independent and closed off but she had more than herself to protect. Lucas is an awesome character. He's an Alpha male without the usual, over the top, wounded heart, non-committal storyline. He was tough in a couple of spots but he is genuine, lovable, and a knight in shining armor at heart. Oh, and did I mention hot? Yea, totally hot. He's one of those men who could practically talk you into an orgasm. I loved the switch to Lucas' point of view, though I would have preferred more. Also, the book is funny, which is an added bonus. 5+ stars. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
First off, I wish the very hot, sexy Dom in this story didn't share his name with my son...awkward!!
I really enjoyed this story and loved the slow develop of the characters. It was great to get to know them and how they tick before they jumped into bed or in this case "strip and kneel".
The Dom and Sub relationship was well explained and wasn't OTT. There were times when I was cringing, not a fan of humiliation and whipping (for me), but I sort of got it with them. This book could have had the BDSM stuff taken out and still been HOT.
I had a little bit of a problem with the "compartmentalisation" of their relationship going on as long as what it did, bit I definitely understood Jess's hesitation on bringing Lucas into her son's life. In my own experience, I wish more Mother's acted this way. Jess was a very mature twenty-one year old and I never felt frustrated like I normally do when reading NA books.
Overall loved the characters, the sexy bits were hot and the ending was everything I hoped it would be. Cannot wait for Roman's book.
Loved the book L. J. but you never told us how old Lucas was....I need to know!!!
This was a good read. I liked both main characters and found them relatable. Jess is a woman who's had a rough life. She played nursemaid to her dying mother and was with her in the end, was pregnant and basically on her own at 16, and was struggling to make a better life for her son. Lucas is all alpha male and a Dom through and through.
I loved that while Jess was all for bedroom games, she held her own in day to day life and she was uncompromising when it came to the well-being of her child.
Lucas was thoroughly controlling in every aspect of his life, but like a true alpha male, he was brought to his knees by the one emotion he couldn't control. The best part about Lucas is that he was never abusive. So many of these books mix up alpha qualities and abusive qualities. That doesn't happen here. There is some BDSM including physical punishments, but it's never over-the-top or out-of-line.
This wasn't a five star for me because it felt like it dragged in spots. We had an issue replay when it should have been handled the first time around, and I was little let down with the way Lucas expected immediate trust and how Jess claimed to trust him but behaved as if she didn't. Overall, it was a really good read and I'll be grabbing the next in the series.
